Caunes is famous for its vineyards, red marble quarries, 8th-century abbey, and more recently, its thriving arts and music scene. Caunes Minervois is just 20 minutes from bustling Carcassonne, but has everything you need for comfortable village living. Around the corner from Le Bijou are a baker, a green-grocer, the local bank, and the town café. Romantic mountain castles, picturesque villages, the Canal du Midi and dozens of wineries are a few minutes drive from town; Mediterranean beaches are only an hour away.
